Caxton Club brings Peter Orner to The Space

LiteratureKicking off Fall Term, Caxton Club will be bringing Peter Orner to Knox College on Friday, Sept. 13.

Orner is the highly acclaimed author of “Esther Stories,” “The Second Coming of Mavala Shikongo” and “Love and Shame and Love.” He is also the editor of two nonfiction books, “Hope Deferred: Narrative of Zimbabwean Lives” and “Underground America.” He is the recipient of two Pushcart Prizes and has been published in The Paris Review and Best American Stories.

Orner will be reading from his published collection “Last Car Over the Sagamore Bridge” at The Space, 306 E. Simmons St. at 7:00pm.

Kate Mishkin
Kate Mishkin is a junior majoring in English literature and minoring in journalism. This is her first year as managing editor, after having served as co-news editor and co-mosaic editor. Kate is the recipient of two awards from the Illinois College Press Association for news and feature stories and one award from the Associated Collegiate Press. In 2014 she won the Theodore Hazen Kimble Prize and Ida M. Tarbell Prize in Investigate Journalism. During the summer of 2014, she will be interning at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
