Campus SafetyPost-baccalaureate fellow Zachary Paluch ’13 remains hospitalized after he was found injured and unconscious last Monday, according to an email alert from Director of Campus Safety John Schlaf.

Paluch was initially placed in a Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill. He has been moved to an Intermediate Care Unit in that hospital, according to the email.

The Galesburg Police Department and Knox College Campus Safety are still investigating the cause of his injuries. Paluch was last seen walking north on S. West St. at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15. About half an hour later, a railway worker found him unconscious near train tracks. Paluch did not have identification on his person at the time he was found.

Schlaf’s email states that members of the Knox community — including students, alumni and faculty — have been in contact with Paluch daily, and that his family appreciates the support.
