Improv club kicks off year of performances

TheaterKnox’s Improv Club returns for the fall with a performance on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 8:30 p.m. in Kresge Recital Hall with their show, “We’re Back!”

“We’re keeping it simple this time,” said sophomore member Karli Shields, who joined the club last year. According to Shields, Improv will be keeping this show exclusively short-from with games, crowd pleasers and perhaps “a few new ones.”

Overall, Shields is excited about the future of the club.

“We’re starting to be taken seriously,” she said, noting the average of 50 or so audience members who attend their performances. Securing Kresge for the performance, however, will remove the problem of a lack of seats, something they encountered last year.

Audience attendance isn’t the only thing that has risen for the club, however, as many new members have also joined this term.

The club is already beginning to plan their second show, which will occur sometime in late October.
