Fighting Scots keep Bronze Turkey for 15th straight year (photos)

The Prairie Fire fell 37-10 against Monmouth College at the Knosher Bowl Saturday during the 125th Bronze Turkey Bowl, the nations’s 6th oldest football rivalry.

Senior Derek Mortensen scored the only Prairie Fire touchdown in the fourth quarter. With 1.5 seconds left on the clock, senior Phil Tallman made a 51-yard field goal, bringing the Prairie Fire score to 10.

Saturday was also Senior Day for the team, marking the end of 13 Knox football careers.

The Prairie Fire ended the season with a 1-9 record.

Jason Deschamps is a sophomore planning to double major in environmental management and international relations. He has been heavily involved in photography since high school, shooting for the yearbook and the public relations and theater departments; this is his second year photographing for TKS. Having grown up in and taken photos of India, France, Gabon and the Central African Republic, Jason hopes to continue documenting the world through photography. In 2013, he was named a runner-up in the Illinois College Press Association's annual Shoot Chicago contest.
