Multiple new films to hit Galesburg box office

A number of new films are already showing at the AMC Showplace Galesburg 8, and there will be more to come in days to follow.

New movies currently showing include “Labor Day” and “That Awkward Moment.” “Labor Day” stars Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet in the story of a divorced mother who ends up taking in an escaped convict. “That Awkward Moment” tells the story of three friends finding themselves at a place in their romantic relationships where they must address the question, “Where is this going?”

By Friday, three more new films will hit the theater.

And all three will satisfy those with a craving for action and adventure. “The Monuments Men,” written and directed by George Clooney, will tell the World War II story of a group of men committed to saving works of art in the face of Nazis stealing or destroying them. “Vampire Academy” will tell the story of a friendly half-vampire half-human, one of many who must protect her group from other unfriendly vampires. Finally, “The LEGO Movie” follows the story of one man who is mistaken to be the one who will save the world from an evil tyrant. This will be the first feature-length LEGO movie yet.
