This week at Knox

Monday, Feb. 24

Environmental activist Jeff Biggers will be on campus to discuss an energy future for Illinois that does not involve coal or fracking. He will be leading a journalism workshop at 4 p.m. in Old Main 201 and will be giving a talk in the Alumni Room at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

Quiver is sponsoring author and professor Kevin Roberts to come to campus to discuss suspense and mystery literature, with a special focus on Sherlock Holmes. The talk is at 4 p.m. in the Round Room in CFA and refreshments will be provided.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

Tonight is the first performance of this term’s main stage production, “In the Next Room” (also known as “The Vibrator Play”) at 7:30 p.m. in Harbach. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are free with a student ID.

Matt Barry is a senior majoring in international relations and double minoring in economics and German. This is his third year working for TKS, having served previously as discourse editor. He has worked for such organizations as the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Premier Tourism Marketing and the Council on American Islamic Relations-Chicago, where his work appeared in such publications as Leisure Group Travel, Ski & Ride Club Guide and The Chicago Monitor. Matt has written his political opinion column, "The Voice of Reason," weekly for three years, which finished in first place at the 2012 Illinois College Press Association conference and was also recognized at the 2013 conference.
