Katie Wirsing to perform original poetry

Common Ground has invited spoken word poet and LGBTQAIP activist Katie Wirsing to perform some of her original pieces tonight at 7 in Taylor Lounge. Wirsing has toured all over the world speaking on a wide variety of topics including gender, love, sexuality, spirituality, jello wrestling and her grandmother. Aside from performing on college campuses across the nation, Katie has also performed at major festivals (The Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and AquaGirl, a queer woman’s festival) and has had her work presented on NPR, the BBC, and numerous local radio stations. She has worked with artists and performers like Andrea Gibson, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Saul Williams and The Flobots.
